Khara Biscuit / Tea Biscuit (Hyderabad Style)
Most Popular Tea Biscuit in Hyderabad...you all will love it, Its taste same like Bakery Biscuit :)
Here is the Recipe.
Ingredients
All purpose Flour (Maida) - 1 cup
Butter Soften - 1/2 cup
Salt - 3/4 tsp
Powdered Sugar - 3 1/2 tbsp
Milk Powdered- 3 tbsp
Custard powdered - 2 tbsp
Baking soda- 1/2 tsp ( use Ammonia if u had)
Method
Salt, sugar, custard powder, milk powder and baking soda should be measured and kept ready.
Cream flour(maida) and butter nicely first by mixing it with hand and then you can use a hand mixer to beat well for 5-8 minutes till fluffy.
The color will change to pale yellow.
Now add all the Dry ingredients Salt, sugar, custard powder, milk powder and baking soda and again beat to combine and it crumbles.
Using your hands combine the mixture and form a smooth dough.
Now pre-heat oven at 180 degree centigrade for 8-10 minutes.
Dust flour nicely to the kitchen counter or platform you are going to roll so that it does not stick.
The dough will be sticky so be patient and pat with hand itself to flatten it and use a rolling pin to even out the sheet.
Press with desired cutters and place it in oven plate with butter paper on it.
Apply egg wash on Biscuits with the help of pastry brush.(It will give brown color to it, if you don't like you can skip this step)
Prick the biscuits with fork.
Bake it in oven for 17 minutes.on 180 degrees C.
On the 15 minutes check and take out accordingly
Take out when slightly golden and cool down.
(Be careful its very hot and soft after baking, After cool-down completely it will get hard and crispy :)
